About Vince...
Edgar Vincent Ortiz, known as Vince, is the illustrator of the beloved Mo’s Kitty Co. series, bringing the playful personalities of Mo and Tiger to life through his vibrant artwork. Vince was born and raised in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas and earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from the University of Texas–Rio Grande Valley.

From a young age, Vince loved drawing and often spent hours sketching his favorite video game characters—especially Sonic the Hedgehog. What began as a hobby soon turned into an exciting opportunity when he was asked to illustrate Cooped Up Cats, the first book in the Mo’s Kitty Co. series. While developing the visual style for the books, Vince experimented with different techniques before discovering his signature approach of painting with water markers and ink extracted from the markers themselves, creating the lively and expressive style readers now recognize.

Vince lives in Georgia with his wife and their two children, who not only enjoy the characters he has created but also inspire many of his future artistic ideas.
